ME

As an artist, I dive in and bathe in all mediums. My inner compass the last couple of years has drawn me into impressionistic land and object scapes. Even though I am on this path for now I still understand that I am journeying somewhere where what I had to say is becoming clearer to me. I am writing, painting, taking photographs, drawing, creating tangible expressions of love, struggle, beauty, joy, and suffering that needs to escape my conscious and sub conscious to tell my story.

Recently I have heard the “ding ding” in my soul, an “aha’ moment. I realized that the joy of all visual and not visual art mediums for me, is how my emotional, physical, psychological and spiritual response is not the result or reaction to the grander obvious literal view, interpretation and image right in front of me. Instead it is how color, organic and fluid shapes, lines, texture, sound, shade, light and tone speak to us.

The border between “realistic” and “naturalistic” becomes a visual blur and this is where the abstract is born. This is where, I believe, the purest humanistic response to “beauty” is born. The visceral experience that evokes that response in our soul that says “wow, this speaks to me” is really the story of how the most basic planetary building blocks; line, shape, color, sound and texture are knitted together by the artist and tells their story.

That is art, anything we see, everything we hear, everything we taste, everything we touch that speaks directly into the deepest parts of your soul and demands we stop and live in that moment to let the artist’s glorious ensemble of the elements tell it’s story.
